Los Carneros & Sonoma
Our first itinerary is within easy reach for those driving north from San Francisco for the day or staying overnight in Sonoma.

anabaWines.jpgAnaba Wines
Named for the anabatic winds that cool the vineyards of Sonoma, Anaba is a postcard-cute stop at the intersection of highways 116 and 121. Housed in a modest converted farmhouse, the cozy tasting room offers affordable pours of Rhône blends and Burgundian varieties along with informed commentary. Just about a year old and anxious to establish a good rapport with Wine Country visitors, Anaba is an ideal stop for those who enjoy one-on-one conversations with tasting room staff alongside a pleasingly varied vinous lineup.

gloriaFerrer.jpgGloria Ferrer
The ascent to hilltop Gloria Ferrer on its winding, tree-lined drive does much to build visitors' anticipation.  Upon arrival, they're rarely disappointed with the gracious winery that marries California mission design cues with those borrowed from the Ferrer family's 11th century home in eastern Spain's Catalonia.  Be sure to take a glass of the winery's award-winning sparkling wine out to the terrace to drink in dramatic views of the undulating vineyards below; those with a hankering to learn more about sparkling wine production are well advised to take one of the thrice-daily-offered guided winery tours.

sojournCellars.jpgSojourn Cellars
Sometimes great things come in small packages - or, in the case of Sojourn, great wines from small tasting rooms.  Really more of a cottage than a house, Sojourn's home is comfortably situated right in downtown Sonoma, making it an easy end-of-day stop for visitors staying in town.  Pouring small-production Pinot Noir & Cabernet in Riedel stemware, Sojourn stands out for its attention to detail.  FYI - tastings are by appointment only, so be sure to book your tasting in advance. The upside is that visits are unhurried and usually hosted by the owner, Craig; frequent Wine Country visitors know this is a special treat.

Ahhhh Carneros. I love Gloria Ferrer. Took my mom there on Mother's Day and bought her a bottle of her namesake champagne (or should I say sparkling wine?) since her name is Gloria.

Make sure you get over to Larson Family Winery for a good old fashioned cowboy ranch style winery experience. Last Sunday was the release party for their 2006 Three Lab Cab and it was our favorite of their estate reds.

Thank you i am looking for "Valdez wines in Sonoma valley California. Will you please help me,thanks Martino
