In partnership with Healdsburg's newest eco-chic lodging destination, h2hotel, the Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley are tempting green-minded visitors to Wine Country with a special "Green Trail" destination package.  Available beginning in September, the package puts Dry Creek's sustainable, organic and biodynamic vintners (think Michel-Schlumberger, Preston of Dry Creek, Quivira and Truett Hurst) in the spotlight with inclusive tastes, tours and "lively discussions" about green wine practices at featured properties.

Let's be honest: There's no question that eco travel has grown in popularity in recent years, and this offer clearly aims to capitalize on this trend. But bottom line-boosting objectives aside (and what business can't use a little boost in this recession?), it sounds fascinating.  Guests can expect to receive a bottle of Dry Creek wine upon check-in at the sustainable new sister property to Hotel Healdsburg (rate includes a two-night stay), then pick up a pre-packed picnic lunch before heading out to tour the valley by bicycle (provided) or car.  Green/sustainable farming highlights guests can look forward to viewing at featured wineries include organic gardens, beehives, insectaries, wildlife sanctuaries, farm animals and fish spawning sites.

And though we think the Green Trail package sounds Zen enough as-is, visitors looking to take their green experience to the next level can do so via optional biodynamic "add-on" spa treatments available through Hotel Healdsburg.

See: Green is good.

From $460 midweek to $690 weekend for a standard room, subject to availability.  Call (877) 342-2022 for more information, or learn more online.
