wenteconcert.jpgThere is something for everyone this summer in Tri-Valley, California.  The hot summer nights are filled with activities cool enough for all.  A complete list of community activities and dates can be found on the Tri-Valley, California Convention & Visitors Bureau website .  Here are just a few of the highlights.

MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT:  The Concerts at Wente Vineyards (June 17 - September 21) offers a unique entertainment experience, by combining stellar performances by top-name headliners with the stunning ambiance of a spectacular vineyard setting.  Visitors and residents also enjoy Concerts in the Park, happening each month throughout Tri-Valley's five-city region.  Families and friends meet at local parks around the valley with their blankets and picnics, ready to enjoy the musical stylings of Bay Area artists.  Tri-Valley is also home to Livermore Valley Shakespeare Festival (July 8 - August 7),  a celebration of living literature performed among the vineyards at Concannon Vineyards.
FOOD & WINE:  Connoisseurs and novices alike can quench their thirst for quality, handcrafted wines and delectable fare at the Livermore Valley Wine & Food Experience: "A Taste of Terroir" (July 22), the Harvest Wine Festival (September 5-6), or at Pleasanton's Summer Wine Stroll (July 15).  Downtown Danville merchants will be your host to an evening of entertainment, food and wine tasting during the Discover Danville Summer Street Festivals (July 29 & August 26).  These events showcase the art of winemaking and the fresh flavors found here in the valley.

AlamedaCoFair-med.jpgFAMILY FUN:  Families flock from around the state to attend the award-winning Alameda County Fair (June 23-July 11).  Family fun is for the taking at this 17-day celebration filled with horse racing, carnival rides and games, exhibits, and concerts.  Mayhem of the western kind can be found at the Livermore Pro Rodeo (June 12-13).  Parents and children alike will delight in watching team roping, barrel racing, and the widely popular wild cow milking.  If you are looking for horsepower of a different kind, car enthusiasts won't want to miss the Goodguys West Coast Nationals (August 27-29) or the Hot Summer Nights Car Shows. Cars, vendors, and live entertainment fuel these festivals with electricity and excitement.
