Situated in the self-proclaimed "Funk Zone" of downtown Santa Barbara, winery-to-watch Municipal Wineries is the eleventh winery to join the Santa Barbara Urban Wine Trail, an eclectic affiliation of producers in possession of tasting rooms downtown.  Thanks to this new, vinous urban enclave, you can now hone your swirling and sipping skills between working on your tan and working out your MasterCard in this sun splashed tourist mecca.
Roy Rogers Would Be Proud
With members that include established Santa Barbara-area favs like Santa Barbara Winery and Whitcraft as well as cultish newcomers like Muni, the Trail seems poised to be a big draw for a broad array of palates.  The most exciting member of the posse, however, may just be the newly reopened Wine Cask Alliance, which re-emerged - longtime devotees would no doubt say phoenix-like - last fall after a calamitous closing.  Fortunately for this spot's many fans, the 30+ year-old downtown Santa Barbara wine hub is back in form, lending a cheerful sense of continuity to the newly hot Urban Trail.

Happy trails, indeed.
