Fourth of July Celebrations Around Wine Country

Fourth of July is fast approaching. Do you know what your plans are for the three day weekend? If you're staying local and live in California, Oregon, and Virginia, you might want to check out the calender event listings on WineCountry.com. Several towns are hosting parades, firework shows and many wineries will also be open with several celebrations of their own. Read on for some of our suggestions!
GOLD COUNTRY
July 4 -- 4th of July Celebration
Celebration, Family Fun: This year's festivities kick-off with a parade down the historic streets of downtown Grass Valley. This wonderful event includes a day long celebration at the Nevada County Fairgrounds with food, musical entertainment and a fantastic fireworks display beginning at 9:30 p.m. Come celebrate our country's independence and have a wonderful old-fashioned small town experience with big town quality!

July 4 -- Independence Day Celebration
Celebration, Live Music: This event is fun for the whole family with great food to purchase, bounce houses, climbing walls and games throughout the whole grounds. The fireworks begin at dark and last about 30 minutes.

LODI

July 4 -- Taste of San Joaquin
Celebration: Enjoy live family entertainment and pay only for what you taste. Simply buy a book of $1 tasting tickets in $20 ticket books and enjoy food from locally owned and operated San Joaquin restaurants. Beer and wine tastings are also available. New this year will be a BBQ Cook-off and a Way Out West BBQ Competition. All proceeds benefit local charities, local restaurants and the improvement of the Downtown Stockton.

LIVERMORE
July 4 -- Fenestra Winery's 4th of July BBQ
Celebration: Celebrate America's birthday at Fenestra's beautiful, shaded, creek-side picnic grounds. Sample our award-winning wines and enjoy $2 hot dogs or $1 sno-cones! Tasting fee waived for military personnel with ID. A great time to visit our winery!

MENDOCINO
July 4 -- South-Side-of-Chicago-Style BBQ
Celebration: New wine club members Michael Ross & Alisa Coan, creators of Calhoun's Original Southside BBQ, will come to Pacific Star to BBQ a wonderful menu paired with our new wines. It'll be an All-American Celebration starting a little later so you can see the parade in Mendocino and a glass of wine at sunset with us.

July 4 -- World's Largest Salmon Barbecue
Dining, Benefit: Join us for a good old fashioned barbecue. Bring your appetite and a few friends for delicious Grilled Salmon, fresh green salad, corn on the cob and garlic bread and help out a good cause. Benefits the Salmon Restoration Association.

July 4 -- 4th of July Celebration
Family Fun: The day starts at 10a.m. with the flag raising ceremony and kick-off parade down Alvarado Street followed by a BBQ picnic and live music on the grounds of City Hall on Pacific Street. July 4 -- 4th of July Celebration at Silo's
Live Music: Celebrate with Napa's own The Juliane Band and seating for fireworks on the Patio overlooking the Napa River. After the fireworks, seating for music in Silos to dance the night away to the tunes of The Michelle Michaels Trio.

July 4 -- Martini Alliance 4th of July Celebration
Celebration, Family Fun: The event begins with a tasting of some of Martini's newly released wines paired with hors d'oeuvres from local restaurants. An All-American family-style BBQ dinner follows, accompanied by more exciting wines and live music. The night is capped off by one of the greatest fireworks displays in Northern California with guests enjoying the show from the winery grounds.

July 4 -- Robert Mondavi Summer Music Festival

Festival: Robert Mondavi Winery is planning an exciting line up for our 2009 concert season. Our concert season will kick off on July 4th with what has come to be a Napa Valley tradition: the hot New Orleans sound of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band making their 38th Festival appearance. OREGON
July 3 - 5 -- Red, White & True Oregon Wines

Our family enjoyed the shows in Ronald Reagan Sports Park. It is a memorable day for us.
