calistogaHarvestTable.jpgThe California harvest season is a whimsical experience in Calistoga. Known for its hot springs and world-class wine, this northern Napa Valley town adds another dimension to the wine country.

The natural beauty of this perfectly preserved town, named top ten "America's Best Small Towns", by Fodor's, maintains the intimate nature of yesteryear. During Harvest the vineyards of Calistoga transform from a luscious landscape to a buzzing dance filled with the vivacious movement of the ripened grapes. The ambiance is breathtaking as the season's colors come to life with vibrant hues of tangerine and copper, and the sweet scents of the soft fruity notes from the harvest's crush fill the air.

What better way to celebrate the bounty of harvest than at the table. With an all-embracing personality, this spirited community will offer a one-of -a- kind experience Sunday, September 7 at the first Calistoga Harvest Table. Guests and locals alike can experience the warm and genuine vibe of this community at the 1000 foot long communal harvest table. 14 Calistoga Restaurants will move their tables to the center of downtown Calistoga for an al fresco dining experience. Choose your dining experience from the diverse restaurant menus online. Find one that fits your palate.

You can purchase your wine from over 40 Napa Valley wines and beer from the various bars set up on the street.  The restaurants will give you pairing suggestions for the menus you select.  Many of these wines will be from Calistoga AVA wineries, many you will never see on a wine list.  Meet Calistoga winemaker's as they join guests at the table and share what is happening in the vineyard for this season's crush - the ultimate time to experience the most exciting process of crafting fine collections of decadent wines. Take a day while you are here to visit the wineries.

25th Annual Passport to Dry Creek Valley®

|
dryCreekPassport1.jpgSince 1990, Passport to Dry Creek Valley has been the signature, annual event of the Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley and is one of the longest-running wine events of its kind in California.

This weekend celebration of the region's viticultural and epicurean bounty takes place April 26 and 27, and is regularly attended by more than 5000 people from all over the country. Weekend passports are $120/pp and can be purchased here: www.wdcv.com.

With 50 participating wineries, Passport to Dry Creek Valley is an immersive experience for wine lovers. Each winery adopts a unique theme - Tuscany, Casino Night, Provencal Market, African Safari are among those used in recent years - and the food and live entertainment offerings transport guests to these and many other exotic locales, while the wine is a direct reflection of the valley itself.

With many wineries offering vineyard tours; barrel tastings; sips of limited production, library wines and new vintages; and a chance to interact with the winemakers themselves, Passport to Dry Creek Valley truly exemplifies the wine-growing heritage of this celebrated wine region.

The Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley define Passport to Dry Creek Valley as "a modern tradition with century old roots," which personifies not only the event but the region itself. From the establishment of the first winery in 1870, early recognition of the region's zinfandel in the 1890s, the preservation of the vineyards through Prohibition, a revival of wine-making in the 1970s, and the region's growth to 10,000 acres of vineyards and over 65 wineries today, Dry Creek Valley has a history as rich as the soil from which its world-class wines are born.

From the very first Passport to Dry Creek Valley to today, the event is a celebration of the farmers, vintners and families that are the roots of the Dry Creek Valley wine region. Hence, Passport to Dry Creek Valley has become a beloved tradition among wine lovers who enjoy a world-class tasting experience with a festive twist---all within the idyllic Dry Creek Valley.

Business Wire

44th Annual Summer Concert Series Begins June 29th and
Honors 100th birthday of Robert Mondavi

robertMondaviHeader_MondaviWebsite.jpgThis June, Robert Mondavi Winery kicks off its 44th annual Summer Concert Series with a festival featuring five top musical acts. With June 18 marking what would have been the 100th birthday of Robert Mondavi, country singer and songwriter Martina McBride will begin the series with a performance that celebrates Robert Mondavi's contributions to the wine industry throughout the Napa Valley and beyond. Now a much-anticipated wine country tradition, the annual concert series began in 1969 by Margrit Mondavi.

"Given Bob's love of uniting friends and family over a celebration of food, wine and the arts, I couldn't think of a better way to honor his 100th birthday than by continuing the Summer Concert Series here in the winery's backyard," said Margrit Mondavi, vice president of cultural affairs at Robert Mondavi Winery. "The combination of diverse musical styles, world-class wine and the backdrop of the beautiful To Kalon Vineyard is a truly unique tradition that I know I'm not alone in looking forward to celebrating."
