Crab Risotto with Fine Herbs
La Crema Monterey Chardonnay offers an elegant contrast to the flavors in this dish. Crisp and cool as it cuts through the richness of the risotto, while building off the herb and mineral notes found in this dish. There could not be an easier recipe for success. Look for very fresh crab to enhance the seafood flavor, while also accentuating the lemon peel aromas of this Central Coast wine. See Recipe

peju_SauvignonBlanc.jpgOther Suggested Wines:

  • Peju Napa Valley's newest wine release is a fresh, vibrant, and lively Sauvignon Blanc. This wine is very expressive and true to Peju's signature style--fruit driven, bright, lush, and utterly drinkable. With a warm year that was ideal for ultra-ripe fruit bursting with flavor, the volume on our SB is turned up all the way. Packed with notes of pineapple, lychee, apricot, peach, grapefruit, and lemon curd, this wine will be an excellent match for all of the winter seafood we are seeing right now (Dungeness crab anyone?) and will carry you all the way through to the warmer months for porch sipping.
  • Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay
This wine is long and flavorful with creamy richness that leads to a nice, crisp finish. Aromas of pear, baked apple and lemon blossom are accented with honey, brown sugar and lavender. Flavors of green apple, pear and buttered toast are layered with caramel and oak spice. Also pairs well with crab!
