Trattoria Grappolo
Typically bustling with locals, this lively hotspot was opened by an inspired chef transplanted from the Calabria region of Italy. The roast fish and chicken specialties suit nicely after a day of wine tasting in the area. The pizzas from the wood-fired oven are also a popular draw. The wine list features greatest hits from the surrounding valley vineyards as well as selections from the chef's home country. When dinner's done, slip next door to the Maverick Saloon for some true local flavor.

Open for lunch:
Tues-Sun 11:30am-2:30pm;
Open for dinner:  Mon-Sun 5-10pm

Vineyard House Restaurant
One of the not-to-be-missed dining experiences in Santa Ynez, the modest charm of this family-run restaurant offers a well-executed menu of seasonal favorites as well as wine-oriented specialties that reflect regional ingredients and make excellent use of the home-grown garden herbs. Grab a table on the patio for the full effect. The great wine list is comprised exclusively of local labels.

Dos Carlitos

Because sometimes only a proper Mexican meal will suffice, Dos Carlitos is there to offer the antidote for intrepid wine-drinkers in need of a little "non-paired" picante.
Indeed rather than wine, the tequila bar is the attraction here--whether enjoyed in a tasting or in a margarita. And the many varieties of agave nectar go nicely with the menu of classics authentically prepared--enchiladas, tamales, etc. The service is also excellent and the prices help provide a break to pocketbook while you break from the wine-theme.
Open for lunch and dinner: Mon-Sun.
